| 1981 | Threshold Services is incorporated to provide housing and assistance for people leaving State psychiatric hospitals. |
| 1983 | Chadwick House, a group home staffed "24/7", opens for 8 residents. |
| 1984 | First three apartments open, with "drop in" staff support. |
| 1987 | Adrienne House, Threshold's 2nd group home, was subleased to Threshold Services by the County Government. Serves 8 clients, staffed 24/7 |
| 1988 | Renaissance, a daytime psychiatric rehabilitation program, opens, serving 10 people. |
| 1990 | Apartment program serves 60 people; two group homes serve a total of 16 people; Renaissance serves 10 people. |
| 1993 | Six single family homes are purchased and renovated with HUD funds. Seventeen residents receive "drop in" support. |
| 1998 | Outreach program begins, providing counseling and case management for people who do not live in Threshold Services' housing. |
| 1998 | Working Solutions program begins, helping people to choose, get and keep jobs. |
| 1998 | Threshold Services takes over the Rockville Outpatient Mental Health Clinic from the Montgomery County Government, providing psychiatric medical treatment and psychotherapy. |
| 1999 | Threshold Services takes over the Silver Spring Outpatient Mental Health Clinic from the Montgomery County Government. |
| 2000 | Apartments and single family homes serve 105 people with "drop in" support; "24/7" group homes serve 16 people, Renaissance serves 30 people; Outreach serves 82 people; Working Solutions serves 25 people; clinics serve 550 people. |
| 2001 | Affordable housing, not requiring linkage to Threshold Services' counseling and case management, opens for 9 people. |
| 2001 | Threshold Services becomes a membership organization, enlists 140 founding members, and begins pursuing an agenda of advocacy, public education and professional education in order to help people with mental illness throughout the United States to lead fulfilling lives. |
| 2002 | Threshold Services begins a Co-occurring Substance and Psychiatric Disorders Initiative to transform care for people with co-occurring disorders throughout Montgomery County and to serve as a pilot project for the State of Maryland. |
| 2003 | Threshold Services is given The Fannie Mae Foundation's 2003 Youth Engagement Award. |
| 2004 | Threshold Services is recognized as a Finalist in the Washington Post Award for Excellence in Nonprofit Management. |
| 2004 | Threshold Services partners with St. Luke's Back to Work Program to provide supported employment services. |
| 2005 | Montgomery County, Maryland recognizes Threshold Services for its "Leadership in Continuous Comprehensive Integrated Systems of Care and Criminal Justice Behavioral Health." |
| 2005 | Threshold Services establishes Compeer of Montgomery County. |
| 2006 | COMPEER of Montgomery County is recognized as a "Model Compeer Program" by Compeer International, Inc. |
| 2006 | Threshold Services was recognized as one of the top charities in the country - one that meets the high standards of Independent Charities of America (ICA) and Local Independent Charities of America (LICA). |
