Healthcare Initiative Foundation partners with Threshold Services
Many thanks to the Healthcare Initiative Foundation for its commitment to improving the health of residents of Montgomery County. The Foundation has recently partnered with Threshold Services to implement a sustainable, agency-wide, model program of comprehensive, continuous, integrated care for people with co-occurring major mental illness and substance use disorders. Nearly half of all individuals with major mental illness also experience a substance use disorder at some time during their lives. This model program will be a catalyst for integration of care throughout the County.
Threshold Services provides comprehensive community mental health care to more than 1,000 individuals. Its service offerings currently include two integrated co-occurring disorders treatment teams. Its goal is to be fully capable of treating co-occurring disorders throughout all of its programs within three years, using an integrated philosophy and treatment model. Thanks to the Healthcare Initiative Foundation, this goal will be realized.
Formed in 1973, the Healthcare Initiative Foundation is providing essential leadership in Montgomery County by actively addressing major public health problems.
